Where it started
P4 Science was founded independently, built upon the technology first developed by Ridgeway Research which received the Prince Philip Agricultural Innovation Award.
The first test, P4Rapid was the beginning of that mission: to develop a quick lateral flow progesterone test for milk. That test evolved into P4Gold, which went on to be used by farmers across the world, helping improve herd fertility management.
We're proud of what P4Gold achieved, and we’re excited for this new chapter as P4HeatRead.
Built by us
P4HeatRead is manufactured entirely in the UK. From research and development through to production, every test is now made in-house by our own team.
It means we control quality at every stage, we can respond quickly when something needs improving, and we're not dependent on supply chains we don't own.
All production and manufacturing is to ISO standards too.
The team is supported by Dr Maggie Fisher, founder of the original technology, and a scientific advisory group comprising of key opinion leaders in bovine fertility.
A new look and feel
For P4HeatRead, we asked a simpler question: what does a farmer actually need to know at 6am, in the parlour? The answer is two things — is she in oestrus, or isn't she? So that's exactly what the test tells you.
Low, or Not Low.
A clear answer, every time.
So, new team, new look and feel - the same science.
